Adam Stern (born
1955 ) is an American conductor. Born inHollywood , Stern was trained at theCalifornia Institute of the Arts inLos Angeles . He received his MFA in conducting in 1977 at the age of twenty-one, the youngest music student in CalArts' history to receive a Master's degreeFact|date=March 2008.Following years as a freelance conductor, composer and pianist, Stern served as Assistant Conductor (1992-1996) and Associate Conductor (1996-2001) of the
Seattle Symphony Fact|date=March 2008, as well as Music Director of theNorthwest Chamber Orchestra (1994-2000)Fact|date=March 2008.
