Austria . As of 2001 it has a population of 4,710. It is located at the confluence of theTaurach stream andEnns River in the upper Ennstal valley at the foot ofRoßbrand Mountain. It is also a popular tourism resort, with more tourists annually than the year-round population, and has two ski-jump hills (40m and 30 m high) for their recreation. Radstadt was founded in the 13th century as Altenmarkt and received town status in 1289. It was of significant value for the protection of the Ennstal Valley and the road crossing the Radstädter Tauern pass. The town has a wall and towers dating from 1289, a Gothic church dating from 1417, and a town hall dating from 16th century.
