John David Gwynn

John David Gwynn

John David Gwynn (13 July 1907 – 21 November 1998), [http://www.cricketarchive.co.uk/Archive/Players/29/29853/29853.html Cricket Archive profile] ] ) was an Irish cricketer.

Gwynn was born in County Dublin, Ireland. A right-handed batsman, he played one first-class match for Dublin University against Northamptonshire in July 1926 [ [http://www.cricketarchive.co.uk/Archive/Players/29/29853/First-Class_Matches.html First-class matches played by John Gwynn at Cricket Archive] ] , a match that also featured the Irish playwright Samuel Beckett. Family

Gwynn came from a cricketing family. Three of his uncles (Arthur, Lucius and Robert) all represented Ireland, whilst a fourth uncle, also called John, played first-class cricket in India.

He died in Wandsworth, London, England.
