Jia Rongqing (zh-tspw|t=賈榮慶|s=贾荣庆|p=Jiǎ Róngqìng|w=Chia Jungch'ing) is a Canadian
mathematician of Chinese origin who is currently a mathematics professor at theUniversity of Alberta researching approximation theory and wavelet analysis.Life
He was an undergraduate student at the
Zhejiang University in China and received his Bachelor of Sciences in 1968. He then went to theUniversity of Wisconsin-Madison and undertook M.Sc and a Ph.D work under the supervision ofClifford Taubes ; but he did not complete it when interrupted by his obligatory alternative service in Germany. He received his Ph. D. (Dr. phil.) at Bochum in 1984, under the supervision ofCarl-Wilhelm de Boor .He is currently a professor of mathematics at the
University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta.elected publications
