The Napix

The Napix

The Napix is an historic property situated in The Cobbles, Kinnesswood, Kinross-shire, Scotland.

It is positioned about 100 yards from the once home of Michael Bruce - The Gentle Poet of Loch Leven. It is believed that Michael Bruce would visit The Napix owing to its vantage point overlooking Loch Leven and there are unsubstantiated yet logical claims that his time in The Napix included time spent writing the eponymous "Lochleven"The Napix was the last house on The Cobbles before 17th and 18th Century Workers were met with the foot of Bishop Hill and the road to the ancient Lime Pits. Indeed, the expression 'The Napix' was the vernacular used by the miners to refer to 'The Road to the Lime Pits' hence the house name.

The Napix is adjacent to the Michael Bruce country trail and must rank amongst one of the best located old country houses in Kinross-shire.
