In football a ball may be kicked in a way to make it move, or curve, in the air. Outside curve (slice) is a method of kicking the
football were the outside of the foot is used to kick the ball, therefore to put a certain amount of spin on it for a certain direction.Kicking the football in a way that it curves outwards from your position when shooting. This is generated by using the outside of your shooting foot, around near the laces. To prepare for an Outside curve, you generally place your supporting foot on that side that the supporting foot is on.
Example
Left foot is supporting: Left foot on left side of football
Right foot is supporting:Right foot on right side of footballYour supporting foot should be aimed at your preferred target or either to the side, in the direction of the curve. Bringing you kick foot back and then just kicking the football, swinging forward, aiming for the inside part of the ball. If you're kicking with your right foot, aim for the left side of the ball. Contact the ball with the outside, lower part of your foot, around the shoelaces. As you finish, you should follow-through with your foot, making the notion of a slicing movement.
This technique usually creates a great deal of curve, as the slicing technique creates spin. This spin rotation forces the ball outwards off the side of your foot whilst in the air.
Remember to hit it with considerable power to give it some momentum to move forward before it curves outward, from the foot that you used.
notable footballers who specialise in this kick are Ricardo Quaresma and Roberto Carlos.Roberto Carlos has been considered the father of this type of free kick as a result of his highly skilled outside curve free kicks which have been scored from set pieces.
