Silly Boys

Silly Boys

"Silly Boys" is a song by the Canadian band Klaatu, which appeared on their third album, "Sir Army Suit". However, it contained something very interesting when played in reverse. "Silly Boys" in its normal form (the way it appeared on Sir Army Suit) isn't very understandable, as the casual listener would note that the lyrics are unintelligible.

The real lyrics

Klaatu placed a robot-sounding vocoder over half of the vocals, leaving every other verse, being sung backwards, unedited. When the track is played backwards, one hears the lyrics of an earlier Klaatu song, "Anus of Uranus".

The fake lyrics

The lyrics printed on the lyric sheet were written to sound like what was being sung backwards. The lyrics were also printed backwards, which led people to play the song backwards to discover what was there.
