John Peck (7 August 1937 – 1993) was an Australian rules footballer, who played in the VFL/AFL.
John Peck played for Hawthorn from 1954 to 1968. He topped the leading VFL goalkicking in three successive years in 1963-65. He played in the 1961 and 1963 Grand Finals.
In a famous incident in 1963, during the Victoria-South Australia match in Adelaide, John Peck felt a kick in his bottom whilst he was lying on the ground. Then he rose up and turned around to see a South Australian player who kicked him a little in an early play and he punched him to the ground. This incident was reported with pictures of his actions on the front pages of newspapers in both states. With his defending reasons, he was suspended for two matches - considerably half penalty for striking in those days - by the VFL.
