Band geek

A band geek or band nerd is a student who is heavily involved in marching bands and/or concert bands. [Patnaik, G. and Shinseki, M. Simon and Schuster. p 37.] The terms are sometimes used to describe any student who plays an instrument and is in a band class (including students in the orchestra), or those who play an instrument outside of school, as long as it's an instrument typically found in a concert band or orchestra.
