Cabeço Gordo (Portuguese for "fat head") is the highest mountain on the island of Faial in the Azores. The entire island is a massive stratovolcano with a large 2-km wide caldera. The floor of the caldera is about 400 m lower than the rim. The volcano is inactive since the last eruption of 1957/1958, which created Capelinhos.

Cabeço Gordo, due to its central nature, is part of each parish on the island (except for Matriz, Conceição and Angustias). From Cabeço Gordo, on a clear day, the other three islands of the central group of the Azores are visible: Pico, Sao Jorge and Graciosa.
