Evergreen Park School (also known as EPS), more commonly referred to as Evergreen Park or Evergreen, is an elementary-middle school in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. Currently, there are more than 900 students attending. The school consists of students from grades kindergarten through eight. The school has gone through several principals through its years in education, such as Colin Leonard, Carmen Peters, Dorothy White, Stephen Booth, David Wheaton and acting principal currently, Joel Mawhinney.

Name

The school was named after the sub-division it was built in, Evergreen Park. The school and subdivision around it are often called Evergreen, by the students and staff of the school, as well as the people living in the area.

Mascot

The mascot of Evergreen Park School is the North Star. The mascot was named by students via a contest created during the early years of Evergreen Park School.

Overcrowding

Evergreen currently serves over 900 students, not counting teachers, administrators and other staff members. The school was originally built for 750 students and has since been renovated to host more. An increase in the production of houses surrounding Evergreen Park School has created the problem of overcrowding at this school. Currently, students who have recently moved into the area surrounding the school may not be able to register to attend the school, depending on which grade and program they are in, as some grades are full to the maximum student capacity. To rectify this problem, another elementary-middle school will be constructed in North-End Moncton.
