Fiske Terrace is a
planned community and neighborhood in theNew York City borough ofBrooklyn .Fiske Terrace is located in south central Brooklyn, south of the community of Flatbush, and north of (and sometimes considered a part of) the community of Midwood. It is bounded by Glenwood Road on the north, Ocean Avenue on the east, the
Bay Ridge Branch right-of-way on the south, and the Brighton Beach Line subway line on the west.Fiske Terrace was developed with individually designed housing at the beginning of the 20th century by the
T.B. Ackerson Company . The community is served by the Avenue H (formerly Fiske Terrace) station of the Brighton Beach Line, whose century-old station house was declared alandmark in 2004 by theNew York City Landmarks Preservation Commission . Present day plans call for its restoration.Prominent community residents of the past included 'Richard Hellmann', creator and founder of "Hellmann's Mayonnaise", and Charles Ebbets, owner of
Ebbets Field Baseball Stadium and theBrooklyn Dodgers .On March 18, 2008, the
