Lord Shrakor

Lord Shrakor - of A Hero's Tale - is the presiding king of Arkanos, the universe next to Avalon. While he is at first naive to the coming of the Kraakahn, and rejects the demon lord's existance, he evetually accepts that war is enivitable. He is approximately 80 years old (though it is never said exactly how old he is), and has seven wives.

Symbolism

The symbolism in his character is blatantly obvious: he is clearly a metaphor to the pompousness of past human kings. He is merely a figurehead to the people of Arkanos - the generals have all the true power - and he is unable to see the truth until it nearly kills him. He also fails to see the great poverty of his people; while he lives in wealth, eating meat and enjoying sitting on his throne, his people live in near-starvation, struggling to survive against the elements, and the growing demonic threat.
