A Philanthropreneur is an entrepreneurial
philanthropist .The term was coined by Internet entrepreneur Mark Desvaux in 2004 who defined it in his article "From Brewster’s Millions To Gate’s Gazillions" as:

New York Times article ("What's Wrong With Profit?", 13th November 2006) by Stephanie Strom, as part of a supplement on Giving, stated that philanthropreneurs are "driven to do good and have their profit, too".
