Siguria Superleague

Siguria Superleague

The Kosovo Basketball League usually refers to the professional division of Kosovar basketball competitions for men, officially named after the sponsor Siguria Superleague. Ten to twelve teams compete each year in two separate phases. The most popular teams include Sigal Prishtina, Trepça, and Peja.

Despite the political status of Kosovo, basketball competitions have been legally organized since 1999 under the Basketball Federation of Kosovo licensed by the United Nations Mission in Kosovo and the Government of Kosovo. Today, basketball in Kosovo shares the same popularity with football. Major investments were made by Kosovar businessman and several professional foreigners and ex-NBA players played in the Kosovo league.
