Tom English is the drummer for British band Maxïmo Park. Tom used to be in the band Field Music which he left to focus on work with Maxïmo Park. Tom sometimes still works with Field Music occasionally at live gigs.

Tom was born in Germany & moved to the UK attending Lancaster Royal Grammar School in the north west of England. He played with Lancaster bands 'Shrouded' 1994-96 & [http://www.myspace.com/drygreen 'Dry Green'] 1997-2000.

Some of his improvised jam recordings with friends in Lancaster from '97-'98 are available to listen online at the [http://www.myspace.com/losershavejam Losers Have Jam myspace page] - including the 18 minute drum/guitar epic 'locus ceruleus'.

His quirky brother is known to strum a broken guitar with a broken plate.
