All Saints Anglican Church, Brisbane ."All Saints Anglican Church is a Church in the suburb of
Ainslie inCanberra ,Australia .It was originally constructed as a railway station for
funeral trains atRookwood Cemetery inSydney in 1869. It was designed byjames Barnet and constructed ofsandstone fromPyrmont in Sydney. Funeral trains ceased running in the 1920s and the station fell into disrepair. In the 1950s the roof was burnt in a bushfire. Subsequently, the stonework in the building was sold. A Canberra builder, Stan Taunton and his son spent three months at Rookwood photographing the building and making drawings. Each block was numbered and sent to Canberra. It took 83semi-trailer loads to transport the building to Canberra where it was rebuilt over twelve months and rededicated onAll Saints Day , 1959 as "All Saints Anglican Church".References
