William Holdsworth (cricketer)

William Edgar Newman Holdsworth is a first class cricketer who played 27 matches for Yorkshire County Cricket Club in 1952 and 1953. He also appeared for Yorkshire Second Team.

A right arm fast medium bowler, he took 53 wickets at 30.15 with a best of 6 for 58 against Derbyshire CCC. He also took 5 for 21 against Essex CCC. A right handed tail end batsman, he scored 111 runs at 7.92 with a highest score of 22* against Glamorgan CCC. He took 7 catches.

He was born on September 17, 1928 in Armley in Leeds.
