Cyrillic : Јања) is a village in theBijeljina municipality inRepublika Srpska ,Bosnia and Herzegovina . Janja is located inPodrinje and it is also the biggest village in Bijeljina. Janja it famous for the rivers Janja and Drina. Many people from Janja who now live in different countries come to Janja at summer to go to restaurants, music concerts and Festivals. Atik Mosque (dzamija). Janja has two mosques which have been rebuilt after the war. There are a large number of people from Janja who live in other countries such asAustria . Near the Atik mosque is the caffe 'bosna' where lots of bosnian singers attend.History

1878 to1961 Janja was municipality centar. The1991 census showed Janja had a population of 10,458.Much of citizens are Bosniaks (
Muslims ) who were removed from the town Janja during the last agression from Serbia and Serbs (1992-95Bosnian war ). Most of refugees returned between2001 and2006 . Two mosques were rebuilt on the same location where they were destroyed on 21st of april1993 . The Atik Mosque was opened on the 7th of August2004 . Džedid mosque was completed also.Demograhics
