Quiero Club (Spanish for "I want club") is an experimental pop indie band from Monterrey, Mexico. They are part of Happy-fi collective and released their debut album in late 2006. Their music combines several elements from different genres like rock, pop and electronic music.

History

Gustavo had been playing in several bands from the local scene (Zurdok, "La Live Band", "She's a Tease") before starting Quiero Club with his friend Priscila. The band was originally a project based only on guitars, drums and vocals; which was how they appeared live during several months. A while after, Rodrigo Martinez, aka "Boscop" (a warrior from the local scene and who had been a roadie and sound engineer for most of the local bands) and Marcela joined in for drums and keyboards, respectively. Catsup left then for Barcelona, but the band kept playing with Luis Fara (friends with Boscop and Gustavo's cousin, also part of several important local bands like "Sofá", "Maple", "Niña" and "

They recorded "No Coke" in the summer of 2004 at ("Niña"'s bass player) Gino's studio, the song became a hit during 2005 because of its heavy rotation on Mexico City's "Reactor 105" radio station, as well as on MySpace and the blogsphere. This allowed them to be invited to that year's Vive Latino festival and an extensive tour throughout Mexico followed.

They entered the studio in late 2005 to record what became their debut album, WOF. It was released on December 2006 and included the singles "Backstage Drama", "Let Da Music" and "LatinAmerica".

2007 seems to be a loaded year for the band, since they are looking to release their album outside of Mexico and they're already recording their second Long Play, which may be released by mid 2008. The songs "Ziggy's Dead" and "Fin de Semana sin Fin" have already been played live, among other two untitled tracks. They also played this year's Vive Latino on May 5 and Rock al parque in Bogota, Colombia on the 5th of November, taking their first steps towards international audiences.

They have also started to export their album to countries such as Japan where it has sell successfully and their looking forward to get a Licence deal.
