Kelaroo, based in San Diego, California, USA, is a software and consulting company which supplies consulting, commercial off-the-shelf software (COTS), and on-demand scientific software (SaaS) to pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, and related industries and research institutes. The company was founded in 2000 by Andrew Reum and Robert Feinstein and has since remained independent. The commercial off-the-shelf software division, the company's principal focus, is highlighted by the flagship KRMS, SeqR, and KALEA products. The software and consulting divisions' client lists include the largest global pharmaceutical corporations, major research universities and institutes, and smaller research-focused companies. Practice areas include knowledge management and IP protection, materials management, biological assay data systems, biological process, and chemical discovery information management and analysis. Technologies developed and deployed in these areas include Inventory management and Chemical Registration systems, scientific databases, and Oracle-based back-end components.

Expanded Collaboration with Amylin Pharmaceuticals

On September 5th, 2007, Kelaroo announced that it had expanded its contract research with Amylin Pharmaceuticals and received a strategic equity investment. Kelaroo's proprietary SeqR(TM)technology was utlized to develop Amylin's PHINDER system for peptide hormone identification and optimization. SeqR(TM) technology is an innovative sequence-profiling approach that combines machine learning methods and high performance sequence analysis tailored for genome-scale data mining and sequence optimization.
