Adrienne Kennaway (born 1945,
New Zealand ) is a children's illustrator and writer. As a child she grew up inKenya , a background that informed her early work. Kennaway's successful career began with illustrating animal folk-tales byMwenye Hadithi , portraying various African wildlife with vivid watercolour pictures - these included "Crafty Chameleon," winner of theKate Greenaway Medal (1987).
