The foveola suprameatica is an anatomical structure of the human
temporal bone , also called suprameatal pit, fossa suprameatalis, supramastoid fossa or suprameatal triangle.It is a small triangular depression at the junction of the posterior and superior borders of the external
acoustic meatus , posterior to the suprameatal spine.It has been also named Macewen's triangle, in honor of Sir
William Macewen (1864-1924), a Scottish surgeon who studied it.
