Vern Rutsala is an American
poet , born inMcCall, Idaho , in 1934. He was educated atReed College (B.A.) and theIowa Writers' Workshop (M.F.A.). He taught English and creative writing atLewis & Clark College inPortland, Oregon for more than forty years, before retiring in 2004. He also taught for short periods at theUniversity of Minnesota ,Bowling Green State University ,University of Redlands , and theUniversity of Idaho , and served in theU.S. Army , 1956-58.Books
