Toronto , Jarvis attended Williams College before moving toNew York to pursue a career in theater. Jarvis appeared on such TVprograms as "Naked City ", "Route 66", "N.Y.P.D. ", "All in the Family ", "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman ", "M*A*S*H", "Starsky and Hutch ", "Cagney and Lacey ", "Fame", "Married... with Children ", "The X Files ", "ER", and "Six Feet Under". He also played character roles in many films; his last major part was as "Charles Jackson" in the WB TV drama "7th Heaven " before his death ofmultiple myeloma aged 72.Jarvis was also the narrator in the first American production of "
The Rocky Horror Show " at the Roxy Theatre inLos Angeles , playing alongsideMeat Loaf andTim Curry .He lived in Los Angeles with his wife Joanna Rader, and two sons Alex and Matt. Jarvis was also the uncle of former AIMR President Peter Jarvis. In 2003, he died from
