Purvis Young

Purvis Young, born February 4, 1943, Liberty City, Miami, Florida is a folk artist now living in Overtown, Miami, Florida. [Kristin G. Congdon, Tina Bucuvalas, "Just Above the Water: Florida Folk Art", Univ. Press of Mississippi, 2006, p269. ISBN 1578067782] His life story was captured in the 2006 feature length documentary film, "Purvis of Overtown".
