Andorra la Vella (Andorra ), established in1942 . They play in theSpanish football league system .Most of the national team come from FC Andorra, which plays just across the border in the Catalonian group of the Spanish third division. The club has played in the Spanish championship's lower leagues since 1948. FC Andorra is an Andorran club, though. Goalkeeper "Koldo " (once with Real Madrid) is the big star of the team. Koldo has been honoured as the best Andorran football player in a competition arranged by UEFA. He became Andorran citizen by way of marriage as did team mate Lucendo who used to play withFC Barcelona . January 2007 Andorran football was saddened by the departure of international goalkeeperKoldo Álvarez, who left FC Andorra for Spanish third division sideCF Balaguer . After thirteen years playing for the country's oldest club, the 36-year-old took up the chance to play inSpain until the end of the campaign.
