The Southfield Christian baseball team dominated the Michigan Independent Athletic Conference going 38-1 during 2000-2004. In the first legal test of a new state law requiring background checks for school teachers, a judge, in March 2006, refused to expunge a previous sex-related conviction from the record of a teacher, who was sacked from the school.
