- The New Hugo Winners
"The New Hugo Winners" was a series of books which collected science fiction and fantasy stories which had recently won a
Hugo Award for Short Story, Novelette or Novella. It ran for four volumes, published in 1989, 1992, 1994, and 1997, together collecting stories that had won the award from 1983 to 1994. The first two volumes were edited byIsaac Asimov ; due to Asimov's death in April 1992, the third volume was edited byConnie Willis and the fourth was edited byGreg Benford . The series succeeded Doubleday's "The Hugo Winners " following that series' discontinuation after volume five, and was published byBaen Books .Volume I
Volume I was edited by
Isaac Asimov and first published in 1989. It collected stories that had won a Hugo in 1983, 1984 and 1985.Volume II
Volume II was edited by Isaac Asimov, and first published in 1992. It collected stories that had won a Hugo in 1986, 1987 and 1988, including
Robert Silverberg 's "Gilgamesh in the Outback", andUrsula K. LeGuin 's "Buffalo Gals, Won’t You Come Out Tonight".Volume III
Volume III was edited by
