Wojtek Krakowiak

Wojtek Krakowiak

Wojtek Krakowiak (born August 6, 1976 in Kielce, Poland) is an American soccer player, who most recently played for the Tampa Bay Mutiny of Major League Soccer.

Wojtek Krakowiak had a distinguished college soccer career at Clemson University, where in his senior year in 1998 scored 31 goals and 8 assists, was named an All-American and won the Hermann Trophy. Wojtek was drafted by the San Jose Clash in the 1999 MLS College Draft in the second round (15th overall). Krakowiak had dropped so low in the draft because it was known that he hoped to sign with a team in Poland. He went overseas hoping to catch on with a club but returned home after failing to do so.

Upon his return back home, he briefly played for the Charleston Battery until finally signing with the Earthquakes in February of 2000. Playing in 24 games and scoring 5 goals, Wojtek failed to make a substantial impact with the team and in 2001 was placed on waivers.

Wojtek was picked up by the Tampa Bay Mutiny in July 2001, but was waived again shortly thereafter.
