Wojtek Krakowiak (born
August 6 ,1976 inKielce ,Poland ) is an American soccer player, who most recently played for theTampa Bay Mutiny ofMajor League Soccer .Wojtek Krakowiak had a distinguished
college soccer career atClemson University , where in his senior year in 1998 scored 31 goals and 8 assists, was named an All-American and won theHermann Trophy . Wojtek was drafted by the San Jose Clash in the1999 MLS College Draft in the second round (15th overall). Krakowiak had dropped so low in the draft because it was known that he hoped to sign with a team inPoland . He went overseas hoping to catch on with a club but returned home after failing to do so.Upon his return back home, he briefly played for the
Charleston Battery until finally signing with the Earthquakes in February of 2000. Playing in 24 games and scoring 5 goals, Wojtek failed to make a substantial impact with the team and in 2001 was placed on waivers.Wojtek was picked up by the
Tampa Bay Mutiny in July 2001, but was waived again shortly thereafter.
