- García Ramírez of Viguera
García Ramírez (died after 1005 and before 1030) was the third and final King of Viguera. From 991 he appears in royal charters of his uncle Sancho II, along with his brother Sancho Ramírez. It is unclear if he was acting as co-king or only took control of Viguera at his brother's death, about 1002.
Little is known of his reign other than the name of his queen, Toda, and he simply disappears from the historical record. He had no male heir, and Viguera reverted to the crown of Navarre, in the person of Sancho III. García and Toda did have two daughters, Toda and Fronilda. Toda is known to have married a Fortún Sánchez, perhaps identical to the lord of Nájera of that name who was killed with García Sánchez III of Navarre at the Battle of Atapuerca. Fronilda created a scandal, committing incest with her "brother," thought to have been an illegitimate son of her father but otherwise unknown.
