The Institute of Mathematics and its Applications

The Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (IMA) is a learned society promoting applied mathematics based in the United Kingdom. Sharing a very similar name, and the acronym IMA, it should not be confused with the Institute for Mathematics and its Applications, an organization located at the University of Minnesota.

The Institute was founded in 1964. Membership is open to all with an interest in mathematics; there are now more than 5000 members. The IMA organizes scientific conferences and publishes journals.
