David R. Wintermann

David R. Wintermann (January 15, 1911 – February 4, 1997) [1] was a distinguished Texas businessman, philanthropist [2] and resident of Eagle Lake, Texas.

Education

Mr. Wintermann graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University in 1934.

Rice Business

Mr. Wintermann went on to excel in family-owned rice and irrigation businesses and had a profound effect on issues vital to his chosen field as an officer of both the Texas Rice Council and the Texas Rice Improvement Association. [3]

Awards

Eagle Lake

The Wintermann's maintained a home called Wingswept on Eagle Lake. The homes on Wingswept held much art and other collectibles. The Wintermann's had no children. Wingswept passed through several institutions before being liquidated in 2007 and the property sold to Trent Kelley its current owner. Mr. Kelley is currently restoring the grounds and buildings.
