UANL Tigres . Made for the American Football Team UANL Autenticos Tigres. It was given to Sinergia Deportiva as part of Tigres assets.This Stadium hosted several matches of the
Football World Cup 1986 . It has also hosted matches of theCopa Libertadores de América in 2005, and in 2006, as Tigres UANL has qualified to the prestigious tournament on these years, and played home in this stadium. It was also, for a short period, the home venue for the Rayados de Monterrey.The stadium has also hosted several concerts, including, Queen,
Roger Waters , andThe Rolling Stones , in theirA Bigger Bang World Tour , the band's first ever appearance in Monterrey, inMarch 1 ,2006 .The stadium's cost was $23 million pesos. It was completed in 1967. At that time, it had a capacity for about 46,000 spectators, but after the Football World Cup 1986, the recognized capacity is 52,000, until the Stadium had its final renovation on December 20, 1986 reducing its total capacity to 41,000.
The Wave was introduced into football during the 1986 World Cup in this stadium.
