A 2003 inductee into the Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame, Dan Schafer has played lead guitar for
Shania Twain ,George Jones ,Barbara Mandrell ,T. Graham Brown ,Lorrie Morgan ,Slim Whitman ,Ed Bruce performing in concert, videos and on major television shows such as "the Late Show with David Letterman " (2 performances), 'Billboard, Blockbuster and American Music Awards' 'VH-1' (Behind the Music) Nashville Network &Comedy Central 's "the Daily Show " with the Animal Band. Co-wrote with Greg Nelson, the song 'All Along the Way' by Larnelle Harris from his hit album 'First Love". This song was #1 on the 'inspirational' charts for five weeks straight, and stayed in the top thirty for thirteen weeks! He's also had songs recorded by the Skyliners ('Since I don't have you' fame) and others. Recorded for two years as an artist for RCA Victor records..including "Baby Now That I've Found You " for Tortoise International in 1978; Starburst; PDJ & KMA Records;He performed as part of the cast of 'Dick Clark's American Bandstand Classics' Show at Opryland USA in the Acuff Theatre in 1997. He also was very instrumental in the marketing of the Epiphone 'EZ Bender' and has two instructional videos, DVDs and a Compact Disc teaching 'Bender style' guitar ...Did two NAMM shows and two instructional videos for the Epiphone Guitar Company. Played bass guitar most every weekend with Jack Greene on the Grand Ole Opry for six years!Played pedal steel for Lorrie Morgan and Leroy Van Dyke...Sang background vocals on records by Barbara Mandrell, Tyler Dean and many others....sang major TV and radio jingles forKFC , Dole, Vivid, Pepsi, Honda, Sea World,Piggly Wiggly ,Circle K , Kwik Sak,Popeye's , Sunbeam BreadCo-produced & arranged background music for GAC network.Acted in the CBS TV movie "Country Gold" starring Loni Anderson, Earl Holliman & Linda Hamilton (Terminator)
