The River Ki

The River Ki

"The River Ki" ("Kinokawa") is one of the best-known novels by Japanese writer Sawako Ariyoshi. It was published by Chuokoronsha in 1959. Since then it has been translated into English and republished.

The novel is about gender roles and family dynamics in Japanese culture.
