Clayton Earl Jackson (born 1974 in Richmond, Virginia) is an American actor, most notable for being cast in the part of the Maytag Repairman in a national search. Jackson graduated from North Carolina Wesleyan College in 1997, where he studied drama.[1] He acted professionally for three years before giving up acting to join his family's real estate business."On a whim" he auditioned for the part of Maytag repairman. He was formally introduced by Maytag on April 2, 2007. Since his introduction, Jackson has been in four commercials (to date), appeared on The Ellen Degenres Show, The CBS Early Show, CBS Sunday Morning News, Fox's Best Damn Sports Show and various personal appearances across the country. Jackson is the fourth man to play the iconic role. [2]
Jackson is a member of the Zeta Sigma chapter (North Carolina Wesleyan University) of the Sigma Pi Fraternity.[citation needed]
