San Lorenzo (or: "Villa San Lorenzo") is a town in the
Tarija Department inBolivia .Location
"San Lorenzo" is the administrative center of
Eustaquio Méndez Province and situated at coord|21|25|00|S|64|44|58|W, 2,001 m above sea leavel, on the left bank of "Río Tojtiwaysho", 15 km north ofTarija , the department capital.Population
San Lorenzo had a population of 2,340 inhabitants in 1992 (
census ), 2,754 inhabitants in 2001 (census), and has more than 3,000 inhabitants by 2007.San Lorenzo was the home of one of the great leaders in the fights for Bolivian independence,
Don Eustaquio Méndez , who was honored by naming the province after him. At the local museum "Casa del Moto Méndez" part of his personal belongings and his weapons are exhibited.External links
