All Nations Cup 2007

All Nations Cup 2007

All Nations Cup 2007 was a football (soccer) tournament that was held between July 13 and July 29, 2007 in the Seattle area of Washington, USA between members of international communities of the region. The event included football matches in four divisions (Open, Masters, Women's Regional, and Youth), as well as various cultural activities which were carried out between matches.

2007 was the fifth anniversary of the All Nations Cup, and the festivities included several new features, the most prominent of which was an outdoor film series hosted by Seattle International Film Festival. There was also a Freestyle Competition in which spectators had the opportunity to show their own footy skills. As in previous years there were cultural crafts and food on display, activities and games, and a marketplace with vendors and nonprofit booths.

Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony featured, as always, a welcoming by members of the Muckleshoot Tribe, as well as the crowning of the ANC queen (chosen from among candidates from every participating community) and music and dance. A 20-member percussion orchestra composed of musicians from around the world performed a piece by Brazilian composer Jovino Santos Neto.

Teams

The following teams participated in the tournament in 2007. Each represented a community from the Seattle area, and members were immigrants or descendants of immigrants from that particular nation.
In addition to the 37 teams that played in All Nations Cup 2006, there were 7 new teams, and the Great Britain team only represented England.
