Nottingham Trent University Islamic Society represents and supports Muslim students on campus. They aim to promote better understanding of the Islamic faith among Muslims and the wider campus community alike, encouraging the growth of a vibrant, tolerant and respectful community.They aim to provide a rich spectrum of events- from the spiritual to the political. People of all faiths are welcome to join in.
The Society is involved in the following:
Talks: Bringing world renowned speakers to campus, the Isoc provides a forum for you to listen to different views, ask questions and debate on hot topics.
Spiritual: Encouraging Muslim students to become more educated about their Faith, with the enlightening Friday sermons and the weekly study circles.
Campaigns: Raising awareness of the injustices in the world, from Palestine to Iraq, from Kashmir to Darfur and Guantanamo Bay; Fundraising for local, national and international charitable and humanitarian organisations.
Weekly sports: Whether it’s a game of badminton or taking part in a football tournament you are after, the Isoc regularly organises sporting events for you to take part in.
