"Voyeur" is a 1982 single release from Kim Carnes's album "Voyeur".

The single reached #29 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and #52 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play charts.

The song also achieved some international chart success too but failed to live up to record company expectations, particularly after the phenomenal success of "Bette Davis Eyes" a year earlier.

In 1983, Carnes was nominated for a Best Pop Rock Performance (Female) Grammy Award for "Voyeur".

Trivia

* The video clip for "Voyeur" was directed by Russell Mulcahy who also directed the videos for "Bette Davis Eyes" and "Draw of the Cards"; he was also responsible for many of Duran Duran's videos that defined the early years of MTV.
* It is contested and debated (and has been so over the last 25 years) that the song (and its accompanying video) is the story of Lady Godiva. This is unconfirmed by Carnes and her inner circle.
