"Provident Tradesmens Bank & Trust Co. v. Patterson", ussc|390|102|1968, was an U.S. Supreme Court case involving Cionci driving a car owned by Dutcher. There was a serious accident with a truck, and Cionci and one of the two passengers were killed. Although Dutcher had an insurance policy for $100,000 for all claims arising out of a single accident, the Insurance company refused to defend because they believed Cionci did not have Dutcher's permission to drive the car.
