Stretton Hills Beauty Spot

It runs off the plateau of the Long Mynd and is one of the many tributaries of the River Severn. Its source is called "Boiling Well".

The river has many estuaries as it is surrounded by interlocking spurs.

The Ashes Hollow River is about 2.5 km long. It is commonly used for geography fieldwork by universities, colleges and schools [http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/258048] .

Ashes Hollow is within a V-shaped valley [http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/258199] , and has several major tributaries. Due to scree slopes next to the river some of the rocks in the lower course are more angular [http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/45575] . It also flooded in June 2007, affecting properties along the river.
