Hank Aaron|The 2000 Major League Baseball All-Star Game was the 71st playing of the midsummer classic between the all-stars of the American League(AL) and National League(NL), the two leagues comprising Major League Baseball. The game was held on July 11, 2000at Turner Fieldin Atlanta, Georgia, home of the Atlanta Bravesof the National League. The game resulted in the American League defeating the National League by the final score of 6-3.
The 2000 All-Star Game was one of the few occurrences in which the manager of the host team also managed the home team of the game, in this case, the National League (
Bobby Coxhad led the Braves to the World Seriesthe previous year earning the right to manage the National League).
