John Scully (born August 2, 1958 in Huntington, New York, USA) is a former American football guard who played ten seasons with the Atlanta Falcons in the National Football League. Scully played for the University of Notre Dame from 1977-1981, and was a tri-captain and a consensus first team All American center. Scully attended Holy Family High School in South Huntington, New York. He is also an accomplished pianist and musician. One of his most notable works is "Here Come the Irish," a song about his experience at the University of Notre Dame. His brother-in-law is ex-Chicago Bear Tom Thayer. Scully currently resides in Joliet, Illinois with his wife, Annette, and two daughters, Britt and Annie.
