Kamsarakan

Kamsarakan

Kamsarakan ( _hy. Կամսարական) was an Armenian noble family that was an offshoot of the Karen-Pahlav Clan, one of the seven great houses of Parthia of Persian Arsacid origin.

Most of their lands were acquired by the Bagratuni during the last quarter of the eight century.

Perhaps the most famous of the Kamsarakan family was Narses, who served as a eunuch and general under Justinian I of the Byzantine Empire. Narses is generally considered to be one of the greatest generals of all time, although history often credits the general Belisarius with the better skill.
