- Taylor Booth
Taylor L. Booth (d. October 20, 1986) was a mathematician specialized in automata theory.
One of his fundamental works is "Sequential Machines and Automata Theory" (1967). It is a wide-ranging book meant for specialists, written for both theoretical computer scientists as well as electrical engineers. It deals with state minimization techniques,
Finite state machine s,Turing machine s,Markov process es, and undecidability.Taylor L. Booth is also the founder of the "Booth Engineering Center for Advanced Technology" (BECAT) [http://www.becat.uconn.edu/] , a research center located in the
University of Connecticut . The center was established in 1981 in response to the growing need for a centralized computing research and development facility in the university.Taylor Booth died in 1986 at the age of 53.
