Hannan Majid is a British documentary
filmmaker ofBangladeshi origin. Originally fromDhaka , Majid's parents migrated toBradford where he grew up. He is a graduate of theNorthern Film School inLeeds . Along with Richard York, Majid runs a documentary production house calledThe Rainbow Collective . The Rainbow Collective is a production company based in Leeds & London, they specialize in creating productions which highlight and deal with children/human rights issues. Their films include "Into The Unknown", "Skinny", "AmaZulu:The Children Of Heaven", "Bafana", "Not A Muslim In Sight" and "Homeless". These have been exhibited at several international film festivals, Emirates, Brno, Cambridge, Bite The Mango, Cape Town, Durban and Leeds among them. They have recently been invited to Doha to participate in The Third AlJazeera Documentary Film Festival with AmaZulu:The Children Of Heaven. They have also recently worked with Amnesty UK where they have put together a programme of documentaries which highlight children's rights.
