Joaquim Carvalho

Joaquim da Silva Carvalho (born Barreiro, 18 April 1937) was a Portuguese football (soccer) goalkeeper.

He played for Sporting Clube de Portugal, were he won several titles of National Champion and the Cup of Portugal. He also played in the team that won the Cup of the Cups final of 1964 to MTK Budapest by 1-0.

He had 6 caps for Portugal National Team, from the 0-0 draw with Czechoslovakia, in 31 October 1965, in the World Cup qualifyings, to the 3-1 win over Hungary, in 13 July 1966, at the first game of the 1966 World Cup finals. He was replaced by José Pereira, from Belenenses in the rest of the tournament.
