Ronald "Ron" Norsworthy (born in
South Bend, Indiana ) is an American designer and the CEO and founder of The Norsworthy Fund. He is responsible for numerous design projects, including many notable music videos, sets, interiors, and events.Norsworthy’s work fuses art, entertainment and architecture. An architecture graduate of
Princeton University , he began his career working for architectsJoel Sanders andMichael Graves . His interest in the role of architecture in entertainment and pop culture led him to explore art direction and production design.Norsworthy is notable for his work as
production designer for a number of groundbreaking music videos for artists such asMissy Elliott ,Jay-Z , andSean Combs (P. Diddy). These early projects launched a decade in which Norsworthy designed award-winning films, videos, and commercials, working with well-known directors such asHype Williams ,Spike Lee , andBrett Ratner . This pre-eminence was recognized when he was elected to the New York Chapter Board of Governors for theGrammy Awards (1999-2000)With a background in fine arts, Norsworthy’s art has been exhibited at the Studio Museum in Harlem in an installation entitled “Reparation Tower.” The piece, reviewed by the dean of architecture critics, Herbert Muschamp of the New York Times, calls his work “…most compelling”.
